Privacy

How we handle your information — written in plain English so kids and parents can understand it together.

Our privacy promise

We collect the minimum data needed, explain everything clearly, and never sell or share your information with anyone.

What we collect

You do not need an account to read articles. Right now we store only two things, both on your own device:

  • Reading progress — which articles you marked as read, so you can earn badges.
  • Parent & child profiles — a display name and age band, if a parent chooses to set them up.

This data never leaves your browser. There is no server, no database, and no cloud sync.

No tracking

We do not use analytics, fingerprinting, or tracking cookies. No third-party scripts collect data about you while you read.

No targeted ads to children

If ads appear in the future, they will be contextual only — related to the article topic (for example, a science-kit ad on a science page). We will never use behavioural targeting, profiling, or personalised advertising aimed at children.

Every ad will be clearly labelled "Ad" or "Sponsored" so you always know what is content and what is not.

DPDP alignment

We follow the spirit of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act:

  • Purpose limitation — data is only used for the feature you chose to use.
  • Data minimisation — we ask for the bare minimum (no email, phone, school, or full date of birth).
  • Easy withdrawal — delete everything with one button on the Parents page.

This is not legal advice. If you have questions about your rights under the DPDP Act, please consult a qualified professional.

Deleting your data

Because everything is stored in your browser, you are always in control. Visit the Parents page and press "Delete my data on this device" to remove all profiles. Clearing your browser data also removes everything.
