Trust & Safety
Our promise: facts first, no toxicity, and a safe reading experience for everyone.
Our safety promise
Every page on this site is safe to show in a school classroom. We check every article before publishing and follow strict content rules.
Facts first
Every article sticks to verified facts and names its sources. We do not publish opinions, political persuasion, editorials, or clickbait. If a topic is complex, we explain both sides fairly and let you form your own view.
No toxicity
We never publish content that is:
- Violent, graphic, or glorifying conflict
- Hateful, discriminatory, or bullying
- Sexually suggestive
- Promoting substance use or self-harm
Articles are written in plain English at a level a 10-year-old can follow. Hard words are explained inline.
No social features
There are no comments, chat rooms, friend lists, likes, shares, or any form of user-generated content. Nothing you type ever appears on this site. There is nothing for kids to post, and no way for strangers to contact them.
No account needed
You can read every article, earn badges, and explore every page without signing up or logging in. If a parent sets up profiles, that data stays on the device only.
No targeted ads to children
We will never serve behavioural, personalised, or profiled advertising to children. If ads appear in the future, they will be:
- Contextual only — related to the page topic (e.g. a science-kit ad on a science article).
- Clearly labelled— every ad slot shows "Ad" or "Sponsored" visibly.
- No deceptive patterns — no ads disguised as content, no auto-play video, no pop-ups.
Minimal data
We collect only what is strictly needed for a feature to work. Reading progress and profiles are stored in your browser — no servers, no cloud, no third-party scripts that transmit personal data. See our Privacy page for the full details.
See something wrong?
If you spot anything on this site that does not feel right — a factual error, an inappropriate word, or a broken page — please tell a parent or teacher. They can contact us at safety@nextgennews.example and we will look into it quickly.
